1. I had a blast at IMAZ! I got a ride in the morning with my friend Jeff who was racing, he picked my bike and me up VERY early and I helped him out before sending him off. Then my bicicleta and I made our way to the Mill bridge to watch the swim from above and whom do I run into?!? My COACH! I finally got to meet Jen and her two cute kids. After we watched the swim I took off all my layers (I was chilly!) and rode my butt home, although my ride home only took me an hour and I needed to tootle around to add another hour. Once I got home, played with Cody, ate some food and showered I headed back down to the race... Where I ran into Jen again! This time she was hanging with Elizabeth F., her husband Chris and friend Thomas. We cheered all the racers on, Elizabeth F. made a comment about the blank stares that Ironman puts on athletes faces. I learned a lot on Sunday and could write a post just about it, but I don't feel like it :-)
I have to say congratulations to everyone who raced IMAZ including, but not limited to; Brian F., Patrick, Jeff, Marc, Carlos, Brian H., Cori, Renee, Jerome, Ashley and I know I am missing people :-(
2. I am so so so close to finishing my college career (at least my bachelors degree) and I can't wait to not worry about writing papers and taking tests! And yes I know that the “grass is always greener,” but nothing is really going to change except I won’t have to drive to Tempe 4xweek or worry about homework! Plus, I never really liked school but I know the value of an education. On the job front - I will be sticking around at Road Runner Sports for a while, but I will continue to apply to other companies for a corporate position.
3. I was searching for a training partner, someone who will do my LONG rides with me! I will run all day long by myself and I always have masters for swimming, but the rides get to me. My quest is over, but give it a few weeks - he may be sick of me by then! Good thing your pretty resilient Brian! HA HA HA you may not know what you got yourself into ☺
4. Cody has become the ball thief at the dog park. I am ashamed because he will not share with the other dogs, he just wants them to chase him around while he struts his stuff. If no one will chase him he just lays down with his collection of balls. He can stick 3 in his mouth so he does gather quite a collection. At first it was cute and the other people think it is funny, but it’s getting out of control and I think he needs to go to kindergarten to learn how to share… hmmm
5. I am really excited because The Real Housewives of Orange County is coming back on tonight! Bravo reality shows are my weakness ☺ I love them all, Top Chef, Project Runway, Million Dollar Listing, Jeff Lewis (I forget his shows name) and ALL of the Real Housewives (Atlanta is CRAZY though and I don’t really like the women, I just like their sweet husbands!).
6. I have two classes this semester that have been a complete waste of time. I feel awful saying that, but I truly have not learned a thing! Some of the people in my classes have been snooty about it and want to go to the dean about how ridiculous the classes have been and a complete waste of tuition ☹ I am not snooty about it, but they have been a waste… Oh I take that back, I have read a lot of disturbing case studies that give me nightmares for one of my classes!
7. Turkey Day will be spent riding my bike for 3.5 hours and then with my brother (I think), my mom, two of her sisters and a few corresponding family members. Then on Black Friday I will be working before heading to my dad’s for a second Turkey Day!
8. My dad’s GF (Teri) set up all my flights and two nights hotel for my trip to New Zealand!!! She did a perfect job and I am so thankful to her for doing it!
That’s all for now, I should be heading to bed, its already past my bedtime!
XOXO
